Services for Lonnie Joe “Bud” Hays, 76, of Mineola are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2019 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home in Alba with Bro. Waymon Hass officiating. Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest #1 Cemetery in Emory. Mr. Hays passed away December 16, 2019 in Tyler. He was born March 3, 1943 in Rains County to William Hubert and Emogene Nelson Hays. Bud married Lena Darlene Hass in Rains County on January 26, 1946. He lived all his life in Wood County and was a Seventh Day Adventist. He worked for Wood and Rains County for sixteen years. Bud also worked for Adair Construction, Tyler Pipe, and Hoffman Architectural Metals. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons-in-law, Jonathan Dollar and Steve Dewayne Baldwin. Bud is survived by his wife of 58 years, Darlene Hays of Mineola; one son, Michael Joe Hays and wife Janice Ann of Alba; five daughters, Lesa Dollar of Golden, Tonya Davidson and husband Ronny of Llano, Lana Baldwin of Grand Saline, Lawanna Gardner and husband James Pace of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Caci Arrington and husband Tony of Odessa; three sisters, Barbara Rabe of Point, Avis Bledsoe and husband John of Colorado, and Jeannie Mitchell of Emory; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. The family is accepting donations and be will receive friends Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
