Welch, age 93 of Fairview, Michigan, formerly of Curran, Michigan, passed away at her home on Friday, December 20, 2019. Lois was born in Traverse City, Michigan on November 9, 1926 to Theodore and Ireta (Flesher) Weidenhamer. She was a Nurse Cadet Trainee during WWII. She married Daniel Welch on August 26, 1946 in Flint, Michigan. The couple settled in Curran, Michigan in 1946. Lois was an active member of the Curran Baptist Church. She volunteered as a Level 5 Volunteer for Heartland Hospice of West Branch from 2006-2014, and also was a Senior Companion and Volunteer at the Fairview Nursing Home. She also enjoyed helping her many neighbors. Lois will be dearly missed by her family and many, many friends. Lois is survived by her children: Eva (Cliff) Hatt of Williamston, MI; Dan (Edie) Welch of Curran, MI; Donna Wadsworth of Fowlerville, MI; and Laura (Ray) Poellet of Curran, MI; her sisters: Maxine Fall of Cadillac, MI; Doris Ackerman of Traverse City, MI; Ruth Graf of Grawn, MI; and Betty (Chuck) Jylha of Comstock Park, MI; her brothers: Dick (Gletta) Weidenhamer of Alanson, MI; and Larry Weidenhamer of Vonore, TN. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Daniel Welch, Sr.; her son David; sons in law: Dennis Eastman and Richard Wadsworth; her brother Carlton (Gladys) Weidenhamer; her infant sister Shirley; her sister Doneva (Bud) Johnson; and her brothers-in-law: Ken Fall, Bernard Ackerman, and Richard Graf. Visitation on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 10 AM – 1 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 1 PM with Mr. Paul Gardner officiating. A Private Interment will take place at Curran Cemetery, Curran, Michigan. Memorial donations may be made to Heartland Hospice of West Branch or to Camp Barakel.
