Linda’s Obituary Linda Lou Davis, 73, of Newport News, VA, formerly of Mexico, became ill while visiting her family and died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019 at Boone Hospital in Columbia. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico. Visitation is Thursday from 12:00 p.m. till the service time at the funeral home. Linda was born on March 26, 1946 in Boonville, MO, the daughter of Paul Monroe Dodson, Sr. and Susie Belle (Ward) Dodson. She attended Mexico High School and on Aug. 5, 1962 she married John William Davis in Mexico. She was a good Army wife, loved to shop and enjoyed Elvis and Coca-Cola. In addition to her husband Bill of the home, she is survived by four children; Randy (Terri) Davis of Newport News, VA, Lindell (Tina) Davis of Gloucester, VA, Bridgette (Will) Everett of Newport News, VA, and Paul (Michele) Davis of Gloucester, VA; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a brother John Bill (Donnell) Dodson of TX; and three sisters, Martha Sue Brown, Barbara Dale Jerichow, and Gayle Bernice Fierge all of Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Curtis R. Smith, brothers Paul Monroe Dodson, Jr. and David Dodson, and sisters Mabel Lorene Blake and Carolyn Jane Dodson.
