Lester’s Obituary Lester James Mazur, 73, of Hagerstown, MD passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 2, 2019. Lester was born on February 26, 1946 in Plainfield, NJ. After graduating high school, Lester began working at Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, MD in 1965 and retired in 1996. He served as the Recording Secretary for the United Auto Workers, Local 171, from 1979-2013. After his retirement from Mack Trucks, he worked for Washington County Parks and Recreation as a park attendant at Doubs Woods for twenty-three years. Lester loved spending time traveling with his wife, daughter, and son-in-low, particularly to Powhatan Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia and Mystic Dunes in Celebration, Florida. He was an avid sports fan – cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees. He loved joking around, sharing a funny story, and spending time with his beloved yorkie, Cody. He is survived by his daughter, Kim Janifer, and son-in-law Dr. Raymond E. Janifer of Chambersburg, PA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Mazur; and his son, Shawn Mazur. Family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742, as a tribute to his late wife, Joan Mazur. Read More
