Leroy Jefferson Frizzell left this world on Monday, November 11, 2019 in Rolla, MO. at the age of 76. He was born August 21, 1943 in Salem, MO to Willie Frizzell and Ethel Givens Frizzell. Leroy was united in marriage to Vera Mae “Jackie” Quick in 1961. They were the parents of four children. Vera Mae passed away in 1970. Later in life, Leroy married Joyce Crocker. Joyce passed in 2002. Leroy was an all-around horseman. He enjoyed trail riding and camping with family and friends. He enjoyed rabbit hunting with beagle dogs. He loved the outdoors, whether logging, fishing, hunting or driving side by sides. He was a co-founder of the elite Skid, Stop, Shoot Club. His favorite times were always spent with family and friends. Leroy is survived by children; Laney Frizzell and wife Shauna, Kelly Frizzell and friend Cindy, Troy Frizzell and wife Beth, Doug Dyer and wife Judy, all of Salem, MO. and Deanna Dyer of Kimberling City, MO. Brother Willie Dean Frizzell and wife Nancy Sue, Brother in law, Artis Quick, And special friend Rebecca Murr, all of Salem, MO Grandchildren include; Jackie Powell and husband Stacey, Kaley Frizzell, Taylor Hodges and husband Heath, Natasha Notter and husband Kris, Andy Stallcop, Justin Brown and wife Kristy. Great Grandson Waylon Powell. In addition to his parents, Leroy is preceded in death by wives Vera Mae Quick Frizzell and Joyce Crocker Frizzell, son Jeffrey E. Frizzell, and sister Francis “Opie” Gibson. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Leroy Frizzell will be at 11:00 on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Salem chapel of James & Gahr Mortuary. Brother Doug Massie will be officiating. Interment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Todd Parks, Heath Hodges, Andy Stallcop, Matt Raulston, Stacey Powell, Justin Brown, Jarred Tackett and Drew Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Lough, Artis Quick, Bill Courtney and Dave Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital are suggested.
