Laurel Stolowy Rogovein, 82, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully on December 30, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, January 2, 2020 at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave., Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Village Shalom Lesky Fund at Congregation Beth Shalom. Laurel was born on December 23, 1937 to the late Sol and Rose (Lesky) Stolowy. She was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom and its Sisterhood as well as Hadassah. She had a love for teaching and taught on and off for many years. Laurel’s love for teaching could also be seen in the areas that she helped as a volunteer, from Girl Scouts to the Jewish Community Archive of Greater Kansas City and the Johnson County Museum. She had many friends and relationships from the Top of the Hill and The Havurah. In addition to her parents, Laurel is also preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Stolowy Goller. Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Michael Rogovein; daughter, Sara Burke (Christopher); sons, Matthew Rogovein and Daniel Rogovein (Molly), grandchildren: Ethan, Jacob, Emily and Celia Grace Burke and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
