Judy Sue Harris Gatlin, 76, of Asheboro, died Saturday, December 28, 2019, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, at Balfour Baptist Church, Asheboro, with Pastor Gary Mason and Pastor Mark Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will be private at Randolph Memorial Park. Judy was born in Catawba County, NC on October 1, 1943. She was retired from Eveready Battery. She was a longtime member and faithful servant of Balfour Baptist Church. Judy was an avid reader and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Harris Thomas, stepfather, Duard Thomas and stepbrother, Paul Thomas. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Johnny “Freddie” Gatlin of the home, daughters, Penny Kincaid (Kerry) of Knightdale, Debbie Blevins (Steve) of Southern Pines; son, Johnny D. Gatlin of Wake Forest; stepsister, Mildred Gamel of Georgia; stepbrothers, Wayne Thomas of Asheboro, Bobby Thomas of Ramseur; grandchildren, Chase Kincaid (Christina), Storm Kincaid (Emily), Katie Blevins; and great-grandchildren, Colt Kincaid and Ethan Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204; or to Balfour Baptist Church, 1642 N. Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
