John was born February 8, 1961 in Brooklyn, New York to the late James Francis Rochford and Carole (Bergner) Rochford. He had a successful career in banking while employed for Bank of America for many years. He married Kathleen Messina on November 25, 1988. On October 13, 1990 and March 24, 1992 he welcomed his son, James, and daughter, Megan, into the world. John was a devoted father, and an avid scuba diver, traveler, skier and trap shooter. His greatest achievement was the two talented and beautiful children he raised with his wife. He loved to travel with his family or friends sharing daring adventures, sports and concerts. John believed in living life to the fullest. John is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Messina) Rochford of Durham: Son, James Ryan Rochford of Texas; daughter, Megan Marie Rochford of New Jersey; mother Carole Rochford of New Jersey; three siblings and their spouses, James Rochford Jr. and wife, Mary of New York, Christine Edmonds and husband, Chuck of New York and Catherine Mary Martino and husband, Charles of New Jersey as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends that he held dear to his heart. Calling hours will be held on Monday December 30, 2019 from 3:30 -6PM at the Tasker Funeral Home 621 Central Avenue, Dover, New Hampshire. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday December 31, 2019 at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Durham at 11 am. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association.
