Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Gary Loudermilk officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Kindred Hospice or The Old Newsboys. Joann was born in Flint, Michigan on April 23, 1939, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Vera (Henderson) Dean. On December 7, 1957 she married Walter Burnett in Flint, Michigan. She loved quilting, doing puzzles, reading and collecting dolls. Surviving are children, James E. and wife Phyllis, Debbie S. and husband Mark Grantham, Sandra L. and husband William Holcomb; grandchildren, Walter R. and wife Danielle, Dana, Sara, Briahna, Adam Jena and husband Austin, Michael and wife Nichole, Michelle, Son’ee and Trae; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Keith, Gary and David Dean; sister, Naomi and husband George Warson; in-laws, Bernice, Darwon, John and Linda; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E.; son, Walter K. brothers, Robert, Kenneth and James Dean and sister, Nancy Holmes. Print Obituary
