Obituary Joana Unowitz Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 90 Mrs. Joana (née Neno) Unowitz, 90, of Bloomfield, formerly of Newark and Union, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2019. There will be a funeral service celebrated at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, December 6 at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. The interment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Mrs. Unowitz was born in Portugal to the late Albino and Celeste Neno, and emigrated to Newark, NJ at the age of 13. She resided in Newark and Union before moving to Bloomfield three years ago. She was an Assembler for Western Electric, Kearny for over 30 years before retiring. Surviving are her beloved daughters Celeste and her husband Assemblyman Ralph Caputo, and Esmeralda Da Silva; her cherished grandchildren Nicole Robbins and her husband Michael, and Sheryl Guarniero and her husband Peter; and also her precious great-grandchildren Morgan and Kelsey Robbins. Mrs. Unowitz is predeceased by her husband Steve Unowitz and her brother Louis Neno.
