Jeldo Montini, Darlington, formerly of Aliquippa and Center Township Born March 13, 1931, in West Aliquippa, Jeldo Montini passed away peacefully on December 11, 2019. He was the son of the late Leo and Sophia [Zultowski] Montini, a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church and Aliquippa High School Class of 1949. Jeldo proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955 as an Electrician’s Mate 2nd Class aboard the USS Chewaucan AOG-50 and the USS LST519. He retired from LTV Steel Corporation after 33 years of service, most of it in the General Maintenance Department’s Line and Wire Gang as an Electrical Wireman and Area Planner. After retirement, Jeldo worked for R. J. Rhodes Transit as a school bus and tour bus driver, and then for Reflex Services as a Project Coordinator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Ann in 2003 after almost 50 years of marriage and also by brother Dewey and brothers-in-law Edward Kotun, Frank Luketich and Edward Luketich. Jeldo is survived by his loving and caring family: daughter Lisa (Dr. Richard) Maleski of Gibsonia, PA, son Mark (Kim) of Fletcher, NC, and daughter Joyceann (Roger) Lacy of West Chester, PA; Eight Grandchildren: Richard Maleski, Esq., Mark, Nathan and Natalie Montini, Nicole Crutcher, Michael Lacy, PhD, (Erin Duffy Lacy, PhD), Jonathan (Allison) Lacy, and Benjamin Lacy (Claire Bergsten); Two great grandsons: Jackson and Parker Lacy; Sister Tina Kotun of Hopewell, brother and sister-in-law Lou and Barbara Montini of San José, CA, numerous nephews and a niece. Visitation will be Friday, December 13 from 4:00-8:00 PM and Saturday, December 14 from 10:30–until departing prayers at 11:45 am. in Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa 15001 724-375-0496. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence Saturday at 12:30 PM at St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church in Center Township followed by burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Beaver County Special Unit will conduct military honors at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeldo’s memory to a charity of choice.
