Jay’s Obituary Jay Conn Toomey Sr. son of Jake and Hilda Toomey of Millsboro, DE passed peacefully on December 2, 2019 at Beebe Medical Center. Jay graduated from John M. Clayton High School in 1966 before joining the U.S. Navy. Jay worked for over two decades at Delmarva Power and Light before becoming a painter. He possessed a tireless work ethic with a simple work hard and play harder approach to life. An avid outdoorsman, Jay was known for a firm handshake, a quick remark typically delivered with a grin, and a jokester’s temperament that remained to the end. Jay is survived by his brother Dennis and his family. Jay’s legacy continues with his son Jay Jr., daughter Tamara, and step sons Lawrence and Phillip and their families of 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Jay will be laid to rest at 10:00 AM on December 16, 2019 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 26669 Patriots Way Millsboro, Delaware 19966. Read More
