Janet Lee Tuttle, 83, of New Martinsville, WV, died Thursday, October 31, 2019 at her home surrounded by family. Janet was born February 13, 1936, in Benwood, WV, daughter of the late Glen Steinman and Dorothy (Fortney) Steinman. She graduated from Wheeling High School in 1954 and was the class valedictorian. She attended nursing school at Ohio Valley General Hospital from 1954 to 1957. She was a retired registered nurse who was employed by Wetzel County Hospital from 1958 to 1991. She worked in supervisory positions, as the director of nursing, and later performed administrative duties such as infection control and utilization review. She also served as the director of volunteers. In 1994, she was recognized with a Commitment to Excellence in Nursing. In 1974, she served as a delegate to the American Nurses Association. She also served in the Wetzel County Cancer Coalition and on the Wetzel County Republican Executive Committee. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in New Martinsville and a member of the Little Flower Society. Janet was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Robert Lee Tuttle; her stepmother Yolanda (Carpino) Steinman, and her sister Meredith (Steinman) Ingraham, who died on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Surviving are two sons, Timothy Robert Tuttle of New Martinsville, and James Gordon (Janet) Tuttle of Eastlake, OH; daughter, Deborah Sue (Michael) Sturm of Friendly, WV; two sisters, Dorothy (Wallace) Goff of Rayland, OH, and Yolanda Steinman Finnegan of West Mansfield, OH; and four grandchildren, Nathan Tuttle, Monica Tuttle, Isaiah Tuttle, and Sarah Tuttle. Janet also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S. Bridge St., New Martinsville. Combined Mass of Christian Burial, for Janet and her sister Meredith Ingram, will be at 11 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Fr.
