James Raymond Henson of Ironton, MO passed away at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson and went home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 1 day. He was born November 21, 1940 in Peach Tree(Wayne County), MO, a son of the late Claude Henson and Stella (Eaton) Street. Jim was united in marriage to Beth Kelley on Easter Sunday, April 15, 2001, at the home of her parents in Annapolis, MO. He leaves his beloved wife, Mary Beth of their Ironton, MO home to mourn his passing along with his children, Kim Henson (Chuck) Adams and Chad (Sara) Henson, both of Piedmont, MO. Jim was a grandfather to six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Siblings who will mourn his passing are: Ronnie (Rita) Henson of Piemont, Linda (Rick) LaPlant of Patterson, Kathryn (Ron) Hyken of Chesterfield, sister-in-law Sheryl Whitman (Donnie) of Lynden, WA, Lynn Yambra and Sue Behrends (Kieth) of Mason City, IL, Bernice Swaim of Piedmont, Debbie Keller (Mark) of St. Louis, Don (Carolyn) Henson of Fredericktown, and a sister Mary Fay Stewart of Poplar Bluff. Also mourning his passing are his mother and father-in-law, Virgil and Sue Kelley of Farmington, brother and sister-in-law Tom and Lori Andrews and their children Cole and Ashton, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Donnie Whitman. Jim was saved and baptized in the 1970’s and was an active member of Iron Mountain First Baptist Church . Near and dear to Jim’s heart was the Mexico Missions Ministry, whose major purpose was the purchase and distribution of Spanish Bibles to his beloved Mexican pastors and friends. Jim served his country with pride and honor in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church. Jim’s family will welcome visitors at the church for Visitation from 10:30am to 1:00pm. Interment will follow the services in the Annapolis Cemetery. Rev. John Canterberry will be officiating the services. One of Jim’s final wishes were in lieu of flowers and gifts, please make donations to the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church Mexico Mission Fund.
