Obituary James “Darrell” Green, 65, of Gastonia, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at CaroMont Regional. He was born in Gaston County on February 10, 1954, the son of the late Thomas Roscoe Green, Sr. and Inez Jones Green. In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Roscoe Green, Jr., and Douglas Green. Darrell loved the mountains, fishing, singing, and playing guitar. He was retired from the textile industry. Darrell is survived by his sister, Betty Pace; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Von Green, JD and Cy Green; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Tommy Pannell, Evelyn and John Steen; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Emanuel Church, 208 N. Spargo Street, Dallas, NC 28034. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019, 11:00 AM, at Emanuel Church and will be officiated by Rev. Sherman Branch and Rev. Steve Hicks. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave. #100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
