Jacob’s Obituary Jacob Harden Morris went home to the Lord Jesus at the age of 18 on Thursday, December 12, 2019. Jacob was born on September 7, 2001 in Celebration, Florida to Keith Edward Morris and Kristy JoRe Morris. He grew up in Clermont, Florida in a loving and devoted family alongside his sister Rylie and his brothers Malachi and Elijah. Jacob loved his family deeply and was a young man of unwavering faith and joy. His work ethic is aptly described in one of his favorite Bible verses, Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Jacob was completing his senior year of high school and participated in the Real Life homeschool program. He loved serving others and had plans to enroll in nursing school. He was also a beloved member of the youth ministry at The Grove Church in Minneola, Florida. Jacob had an entrepreneur spirit; as a young boy, he opened a roadside stick-selling business with his cousin Donna. His many interests included dad jokes, The Office, Spongebob Squarepants, and kitchen dance parties to music of all genres. Jacob was a hardworking and talented athlete who trained at CrossFit Waterside in Orlando; he took second in his age group at the 2019 CrossFit Open and went on to compete in the Teenage Boys 16-17 division at the 2019 CrossFit Games in Madison, WI. He placed 7th place worldwide, even while competing with a heart defect. Jacob is survived by his parents, Keith and Kristy Morris and his siblings, Rylie, Elijah and Malachi. He also leaves his grandparents, Christopher and Joyce Morris and Paul and Shonya Hoyt, and his great-grandparents, Owen and Mabel Gooding and Sandra and James Long. He is also survived by his beloved girlfriend Gabbi Tedder, and a multitude of wonderful family and friends. Jacob is an inspiration to his family and a great encouragement to many. He was a loving and faithful son, brother, and friend. His focus on trusting and following Jesus will forever transform the lives of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed. Visitation for Jacob Morris will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Becker Funeral Home; a celebration of Jacob’s life will follow on Thursday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Real Life Christian Church in Clermont, Florida. The family asks for you to wear purple and to come prepared to write down your favorite memory, funny story, dad joke, or quote from Jacob’s favorite show, The Office. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to please consider making a donation to Priority One Worldwide (www.priorityoneworldwide.com) in Jacob’s name. Read More
