Obituary Jaclyn Williams Moorhead, age 79, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord she loved on December 13, 2019. Jaclyn was born on January 15, 1940, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. While attending Saint Xavier College in Chicago, she met her loving husband, Dr. Edward L. “E.L.” Moorhead II, who preceded her in death in 1987. Jaclyn is survived by her five children: Ann Rodriguez, Barbara (Joel) Vedders, Julia Reynolds, Margaret (Randy) Windemuller, and Edward (Sue) Moorhead III, and her eight grandchildren: Kaitlyn Moorhead-Hill, Brandon and Justin Hansen, Abby and Jack Vedders, Liam Reynolds, and Charlie and Andrew Moorhead. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Delanty, of Phoenix, her brother-in-law, Patrick (Mary Beth) Moorhead, of Chicago, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Jaclyn was a public health nurse in Chicago and Detroit. After moving to Grand Rapids, she was able to stay home with her family to raise her children. She was an avid gardener and knitter, plus she loved to read, especially murder mysteries and true crime stories. Jaclyn returned to work as a parish secretary, a job she loved, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, until her retirement in 2015. We are grateful for all the time we had with her and cannot imagine the joy she is now experiencing in heaven and being reunited with her parents, John and Evelyn Williams, her nephew, Brian Delanty, and the love of her life, E.L. Friends may greet the family from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 750 Gladstone Dr. S.E., East Grand Rapids, with Father Paul Milanowski as Celebrant.
