JACK’s Obituary John J. “Jack” Sheils Jr.; 79 years old of Lindenhurst, IL passed away Monday December 2, 2019 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. He was born October 9, 1940 in New York City, NY, the son of the late John J. and Helen (neé Mulligan) Sheils, living in Morris Plains, NJ for many years before settling in Lindenhurst in 2001. Jack proudly served in the US Army. Before his retirement in 1991, Jack worked as a Director of Human Resources for Ciba-Geigy, and later Timeplex. Jack loved golfing and spending time with his family. On October 4, 1986 he married Emily Clary in Morris Plains, NJ and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2010. Survivors include: two children: Jay Sheils and Ryan Sheils both of Phoenix, AZ; three siblings: Jo Ellen (Ray) Carr of East Greenville, PA, Margaret (George) Egner of Weeki Wachee, FL, and Patrick (Kay Parks) Sheils of Tucson, AZ, a cousin Joanne Hollihan of King of Prussia, PA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held 11:00AM Wednesday December 4, 2019 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002, with visitation beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Advocate Hospice 2000 Springer Dr. Lombard, IL 60148, are appreciated in Jack’s memory.
