Imogene’s Obituary Imogene V. Smithberger, age 96, passed away December 23, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Medina on February 22, 1923 to the late Blake and Ethel (Krieger) Bowman. Imogene was known as a wonderful cook, and enjoyed spending her time gardening. She was the owner and operator of Smitty’s Tavern in Lodi, with her husband Paul, for many years. She is survived by her children; Barry (Jean) Smithberger, Janet (Bill) Whitmore, and Dennis (Barb) Smithberger; 14 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; 1 great- great-grandchild, and her daughter-in-law Kathleen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Smithberger in 1969; son Ronald Smithberger; her parents; and her infant sister, Jeanette Bowman. Private services for Imogene will be held.
