George’s Obituary Obituary George Metz, 80 George Metz, 80; Blackfoot resident, died Tuesday, December 11th, 2019 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1939 in Fort Hall, Idaho, the son of George Metz Sr. and Ruth E. St. Clair. George attended school in Fort Hall and graduated from Blackfoot High School. After graduationGeorge enlisted into the United States Navy and completed his enlistment tour. When returning home to Idaho George married Evelyn A. Broncho. During this time he completed Diesel Mechanics school at Idaho State University followed by Heavy Equipment Operators school in Chicago, Illinois. George was a heavy equipment operator and belonged to the Washington-Idaho Operations Engineers Union until his retirement. He raised cattle, horses, played basketball and played billiards. Later in life he loved to go to the casino and play shuffleboard with his friends. He is survived by his 2 sons, Randy L. Metz of Blackfoot, David A. Metz, of Pocatello, his daughter Marlo L Repeta from Alexandria, Virginia, and his two brothers Delano and Orville Metz, both from Fort Hall. George had 5 grandchildren Keva, Sean, Charlie, Ryan, and Maya. He was preceded in death by his son Jay Metz and 5 brothers Wayne Metz, Lyman Metz, Robert Metz, George Marshall Jr., and Glen Marshall. Funeral services will be held from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Ross Fork Lodge in Fort Hall. Burial services will be held the following day Monday December 16th, 2019 at Ross Fork Lodge and he will be laid to rest at Ross Fork Cemetery with his family.
