Mr. George Inman Evans, 81, of Evans Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at his home. Born on March 12, 1938 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Fletcher Evans and Virginia Jones Evans. Mr. Evans was a former employee of Moore Paving Company and retired after 26 years from the Hart County Road Department, where he was a machine operator. He was also member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church. Survivors include one son: Wade Evans of Hartwell; one sister: Mildred Phillips of Iva, SC; two grandchildren: Wesley Evans (Kaylan Adams) and Jonathan Evans. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Margaret Morrison Evans; one son: Billy Ray Evans; three brothers: John Evans, Paul Evans, and James Otis Evans; and one sister: Dorothy Alewine. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. At other times the family will be at their respective homes. Funeral services for Mr. Inman Evans will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer and Rev. Dan Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
