Obituary Ethel “Gerry” Richter, 82, of Lapeer, formerly of Leonard, died Monday, December 2, 2019. Gerry was born February 3, 1937 in Detroit to James and Ruby (Lucas) Kane. She attended St. Bernard Catholic High School and graduated in the class of 1955. Gerry married Robert James Richter in Macomb County in 1959. Gerry loved going to casinos and playing cards, anything from poker to euchre she would have you beat. She was always seen with either a word book in her hand or her crocheting hooks making things. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gerry is survived by her son: Daniel (Gayle) Richter of Lapeer; grandchildren: Chelsea Richter, Danielle (Andrew) Moore, Shane Richter, Kristy Richter, Naomi Richter, Taylor (Nick) Ottman, and Alaina Richter; niece and nephew: Holly and Daniel; and 7 great-grandchildren. Gerry is preceded in death by her husband Robert Richter; sons: James and Jeffrey Richter and her aforementioned parents. Friends and family will be able to visit on Wednesday December 4th from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at Muirs. Burial at Lakeville cemetery will follow the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America PO Box 851, Lapeer, Michigan 48446.
