Obituary of Elizabeth Jean Smalley Graveside services for Elizabeth Jean Smalley, 23, of Petersburg, TX are pending at this time . We will update the information once arrangements are finalized. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Elizabeth died Thursday, December 5, 2019, in Lubbock, TX. She was born January 4, 1996 in Hale Center, TX, the second of 4 daughters, to Kelly and Ronna (Tyson) Smalley. Elizabeth was raised in Petersburg and graduated from Idalou High School in 2014 and then attended Amarillo College. She was employed at Boehning Show Barn in Earth, TX. She enjoyed photography, arts and crafts, but her true love was teaching kids to show cattle for their stock show. She is preceded in death by grandparents, Ronald Tyson, Gerald and Dorothy Smalley and an uncle, Curtis Smalley. Elizabeth is survived by her parents, Kelly and Ronna Smalley of Petersburg, 3 sisters, Katherine Smalley of Hinton, OK, Victoria Smalley and Charlotte Smalley both of Petersburg, a niece, Kyann Lane of Hinton, OK and maternal grandmother; Karol Tyson of Shallowater, TX. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 930 West 1st Street, Ste 203, Ft. Worth, TX 76102 or online at JDRF.org.
