Elizabeth “Betty” Reed (nee Welsh), of Harrison, Ohio passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the age of 81. Betty was born in Harrison, Ohio on May 10, 1938, to John & Lucy (nee Spraul) Welsh. She married Richard Reed on July 19, 1958 and together they were blessed with five children. Betty’s life was centered on her husband and children. She loved to cook, with some of the family favorites being her lasagna, chili and chocolate chip cookies. She also loved bowling, shopping, and animals, especially dogs. Betty was an extremely friendly person and never knew a stranger. Those left to cherish her memory, are her loving husband: Richard Reed; beloved children: Scott (Brenda) Reed, Steven (Michelle “Shelly”) Reed, Suzanne (Jerry Wiwi), Shawn Reed, and Shane (Aubern) Reed; grandchildren: Rachelle (Robby) Buckmeier, Nichole (Seth) Brandenburg, Nathan Reed, Ashley, Kyle & Jonathon Wiwi; great grandchildren: Gunner & Reed Buckmeier, & Conner Brandenburg; brother: Robert (Delores) Welsh; nephews: Jeff (Pam) Welsh, Gary Welsh; niece: Lynn (John) Kerr; brother-in-law: Loren “Barney” Reed. Betty was preceded in death by her parents: John & Lucy Welsh. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 12:00 PM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM at St. John’s Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Rd, Harrison, Ohio. Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Cleves, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association through the funeral home.
