Dorothy Ruth Merrill Johnson, 89, the daughter of the late Richard B. and Dorothea Hunter Merrill entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 27,2019. Born in Ashland, NH, October 20,1930, Dottie was a graduate of Ashland, High School and Mt. Ida College, West Newton, Mass. She was employed at the former Fulton Co. Infirmary as a CNA, and was a CSEA representative for many years. She was a proud New Englander who truly believed in “live free or die.” Dottie loved the Boston Red Sox, especially “Big Poppy” and rarely missed a game on TV. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and mostly observing the antics of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Debra Mowrey, Dr. C. Dean (Miriam) Dustin, Lynne Dustin, Laurie (Kevin) Kimball, Tracy (Paul) Blatchford, and Patrick Johnson; granchildren, Mary Jo (Ken) Mowrey Bush, Jessica (Jeff) Mowrey Eaton, Anthony Jr. (Rene) Mowrey, Justin (Edith) Rogers, DeAnna Rogers (Nick) Scarfone, Nick and Ryan Rogers, Devon (Shane) Rogers Houghton, Alex Yesse, and Benjamin (Addy) Blatchford; great-grandchildren, Anthony III, Cecelia and Joseph Mowrey, Kalena and Noah Eaton, Peyton, Jacelyn and Makenna Bush, Justin Rogers Jr., Emerson and Lorenzo Martelle, Grayson and Graham Houghton, Emily, Sam, and Luke Blatchford, Cody and Connor Johnson; her sister, Jacki (Dave) Carbonneau of New Hampshire. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Francis Pat Johnson; brothers, Richard and George Merrill; and sister, Alice Jane Hunter. It was Dorothy’s wishes that there would be no funeral services.
