Obituary Selma, NC: Ms. Dorothy Anne Averette, age 79, of Hinnant Edgerton Road passed Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens in Smithfield. Officiating will be Rev. Scott Johnson. Ms. Averette was born on May 16, 1940 in Johnston County to the late Marvin and Ethel Messer Adams. She was preceded in death by her son, Leo Romero, two sisters and one brother. Ms. Averette was a homemaker, loved her animals and family. Survivors are sons, Bruce Romero and wife, Julie, Marvin Romero, Charles Romero, and Julian Romero; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:45PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks prior to the graveside service.
