Doris R. Anderson of Madelia, Minnesota May 15, 1936 – December 5, 2019 Mankato Mortuary 1001 North Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 507-388-2202 Doris Ruth Anderson, born May 15, 1936, died December 5, 2019, she was 83 years old. She was born in Toledo, OH to John and Ruth (Lang) Wacker. After graduating from high school she attended Capital University, where she graduated with a degree in Art. Shortly after she moved to Minneapolis, MN, and worked for Augsburg Publishing House as a commercial artist. While living there she met and married Eugene Anderson May 25, 1964. They lived in Wisconsin, Boston, Colorado and finally in Minnesota. Throughout her life as a pastor’s wife, she used her artistic talents in the churches and communities where they lived. She also was involved in Girl Scouts for many years as a troop leader. She was preceded in death by her father John Wacker, mother Ruth (Lang) Wacker and step mother Erna, as well as aunts and uncles. She is survived by husband Eugene, daughter Maren, sister Suzanne (Richard) Beard, nieces, Ruth Whitaker, Elizabeth Stockman, Judy (Greg) Herr, nephew Tim (Vicki) Beard, as well as grand nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held December 14, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia, MN at 1:30 pm, with visitation one hour before. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society and the ELCA Good Gifts.
