Donna’s Obituary **It was Donna’s wish that no flower’s be sent, but rather that donations may be made to Best Friends Animal Society, www.bestfriends.org, or The Church in Aurora.** Donna Sue Ridgley of Aurora, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 9, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio at age 91. Donna was born June 17, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio. As a child, she spent summers with extended family in Upstate New York. She attended Denison University, graduating in 1950 with a double major in Chemistry and Biology and worked for Chem Abstracts in Columbus Ohio. After starting her family of three girls, she earned her teaching certificate and in 1981 she earned her Master’s Degree from Kent State University. Donna taught in the West Geauga School District from 1967 to 1988, and owned and managed Ridgley’s Repertory candle store from 1989 to 1994. She enjoyed dancing, did ballet as a child and competitive ballroom dancing as an adult. She met her beloved husband, Garland Ridgley, in January 1979, whom she married in February 1980. Donna loved to travel and loved music, especially playing the piano and singing. She hiked glaciers in Switzerland, she visited England, Scotland, France, Russia, Hong Kong, Israel and cruised the Norway Fjords and the Panama Canal. She kept busy with craft shows, church work and volunteering Donna loved animals and her grand pets. She is survived by her husband Garland James Ridgley, daughters Kim Smith Hosler (Randy) of Castle Rock, CO, Becky Smith Catalucci (Jeff) of Aurora OH, Cindy Smith Hudson (C. W.) of Auburn Township, OH, stepdaughter Gail Ridgley Pansini (Paul) of Tucker, GA , and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Edythe Baker, and stepson Doug Ridgley. Calling hours will be Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Blessing-Hine Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, OH 44087.
