Donna Karen (Burton) Jaggers was born December 10th, 1943 in little Azalia, Indiana, the youngest daughter of James Burton and Bertha Hadley Burton. She had 5 brothers and sisters, James, Paul, Mildred, Wilma and Alleen. She grew up to marry and had three children, Lisa Renee whose life was short and treasured, Ronald Neal ( Jennifer) and Stephen Michael. She was a hard working woman who took pride in being the best mother to her children she could be. She worked two, sometimes three jobs to make sure they were provided for and had the necessities of life. We may have lacked the excesses in material things, but we were never short on love, laughs and memories being made. She was never a social woman, never brought attention to herself, but instilled in both of her sons compassion, understanding, resilience and courage. She taught us more about life and how to live it that we will both realize for years to come. A special thank you and heartfelt appreciation goes out to her niece Pam Billman. Countless trips to the grocery, pharmacy, doctors’ visits and meals were selflessly provided. Pam has been like a daughter to our mom and we will be forever grateful. Her lifelong friend, Sandy Ross, is one of mom’s best accomplishments. She has been there for all the joys and sorrows, the laughter and the tears and a part of the family that is dearly loved and appreciated. Other survivors are her niece Cathy, nephew Donald and Danny Lee as well as other great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her grandson Eric and two great grandchildren Sophie and Anberlin. We love you Mom. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garland Brook Cemetery, 501 North Gladstone Avenue, Columbus with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. There is no visitation planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society, P.O. Box1088, Columbus, Indiana 47202.
