Clarence Eugene Mason, 92, of Hot Springs, formerly of Velvet Ridge, died Sunday, December 22, 2019 in Hot Springs. He was born July 30, 1927 in Velvet Ridge to the late Everett and Mary (Stanley) Mason. He was a retired machinist and a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II. Clarence attended the Velvet Ridge Church of God and most recently the City Life Church of God in Hot Springs. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and spending as much time as possible with his family. Family reunions were a joyous time for him and he always looked forward to the gatherings. He is survived by his sons, Eugene, Bobby and Stephen Kent Mason; sisters, Martha, Wilma and Sue; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Imogene Mason; brothers, Jack, Luther, Marvin and Jimmy; sisters, Iris and Elveda and a great-grandson, Matthew Edwards. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. This charity was very near and dear to Clarence’s heart. Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 28 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Velvet Ridge Church of God with services to begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Velvet Ridge Cemetery.
