Charlie was born on April 29, 1947 to Jack and Una Faye Whitney in Deport, TX. Charlie was married to Carol Sue Hall on June 17, 1966. Charlie was in the Army from 1967-1969 and fought in the Vietnam War as a truck driver and a gunner on the truck. He worked for S&J Contractors for 25 years as a supervisor. Charlie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Sue Whitney; son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Lisa Whitney of The Colony, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Steve Marshall of Celina, TX; grandchildren Allison and Cooper Whitney, Whitney and Caroline Marshall; sister Kathy Powers of Hooks, TX; brother-in-law Mike Hall of Talco; sister-in-law Mary Hall of Talco; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Debbie and Chris Waddell of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Gynell and Ronnie Lawrence of Arlington, TX; sister-in-law Freida Andrews of Little Elm, TX; brother-in-law, Danny Jones of Moorcroft, WY; brother-in-law, Leon McQueen of Mesquite, TX; nieces Carolyn Baumgartner, Sandra Wright, Kennette Plattner, Nancy Mahan, Sarah Jones and Traci Lawrence; nephews Dennis Ewing, Mike Hall, Eric Hall, Curtis Jones, Jett Andrews, and James Hall. He was also survived by special family friend, Scott Andrews. Scott was more than an employer; he was a faithful and lifelong friend. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Dured and Guylene Hall; son, Brady Whitney; sister, JoAnn McQueen; sister-in-law, Elaine Ewing; sister-in-law Donna Jones; and brother-in-law Steve Hall. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home. Service will be Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 2 PM at Bates Cooper Sloan Chapel, officiated by Kris Groda & Jeff Whatley. Interment will follow in the Nevills Chapel Cemetery. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or North Jefferson church of Christ. Charles was a proud man that lived by his strong work ethic. He was a family man who loved family get-togethers.
