Charles Allen Avery, 72, of Temple passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in a local hospital. Charles was born to Frances and Carl Avery on July 16, 1947 in Temple. Charles spent his days working in maintenance for Temple ISD. He enjoyed fishing, car racing, horseback riding, camping, hunting, and anything outdoors. Charles was a country man who would be there for anyone if they needed anything. He was very proud of his family. Charles also enjoyed spending much of his time at his church, 3C Cowboy Fellowship. A celebration of life for Charles will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the 3C Cowboy Fellowship in Salado with Pastor Bryan Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the 3C Cowboy Fellowship in Charles’ honor. Charles is survived by his companion of 13 years, Georgia Pearson; his daughters, Jennifer Tenant of Arlington and Brandie Rector Thornton of Mexico; his brother, Bobby Avery of Temple; his sister, Shirley Roske of Temple; and his five grandchildren. Charles is preceded in death by his brother, Joe Avery, and his parents. Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
