Obituary HOLYOKE Catherine (Capen) Eastman, age 81, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Saturday December 21, 2019. Catherine was born in Northampton, MA daughter of the late Edward G. and Victoria A. (Pratt) Capen. Catherine worked as a Doll Maker for many years at Totsy Doll company before retiring to care for her family. She was the widow of Howard F. Eastman who died in 2000. Catherine is survived by her children: Michelle Croteau of Chicopee, Monica Van Bobo and her husband John of Kansas, Howard F. Eastman, Jr. of Chicopee, and Brian Eastman of Holyoke; 7 grandchildren: Jeffrey Eastman, Victoria Bowen, Jeremiah Eastman, Daniel Croteau, Kaitlyn Croteau, Brandon Eastman, and Alicia Eastman; 7 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Joan Kunert of Missouri, Sandra LaPlante of Greenfield, and Roxanne “Dale” Heiser of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Catherine was predeceased by two sons: Guy L. Eastman and James Eastman, and her brother, Edward G. Capen, Jr. Visitation will be held on Friday December 27 from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
