Obituary John Hotchkiss, 78, of Torrington, CT, passed away Saturday, December 7th, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Peggy Giuliano Hotchkiss. They were married for 58 and 1/2 years. John was born in Winsted, CT on December 3, 1941, and son of the late Wilma (McCarthy) Tazzara and Charles Hotchkiss. He served in the US Navy and was an award winning service manager for Chevrolet Dealerships for over 35 years. In addition to his wife he leaves son Ryan Hotchkiss and brothers Dave Tazzara and wife Cindy, Wayne Tazzara and wife Kim, Chuck Hotchkiss, Tom and wife Corrine Hotchkiss, and Dan Hotchkiss, sisters Lisa Clark and husband Charles, Cheryl Pratt and husband Ron. He also leaves sister and brother-in law Pat and Bob Passini. Along with nephews Bob Passini wife (Charlene) and Mike Passini. And niece Sue Passini. And great nephew Austin Passini and great niece Abby Passini. He was predeceased by brothers Robert and Wallace Hotchkiss. John had a passion for dirt racing and owned and raced open wheel stock cars at Lebonon Valley Speedway in W. Lebonon, New York for many years. He also liked getting together with Bob, Buddy, the Old Buck, Jack, Bruce and Steve for the monthly card games, that often ended with John starting the stock car at 2 am. Or going to one of the guys houses for breakfast at 3 am when they didn’t know you were coming. Family and friends were always important to John and his door was never shut. John willed be sadly missed but were grateful for memories. A Mass will be celebrated Thursday Dec 12th at 11 AM at Saint Peter’s Church in Torrington.
