Blanca Rosa Toledo de Soto, 91, of Berlin, CT, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Jerome Home in New Britain, CT. She was the daughter of Antonio and Rosa Toledo. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jose T. Soto, her sons Joseph A. Soto and Arthur M. Soto, as well as her brothers and sisters, Josefa, Andrea, Adella, Miguel and Augustine. She leaves her daughter Judy Kimball, son in law David, plus many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her precious cat Chicatina. She will also be missed by her sisters in law, Maria Pitre Toledo of Arecibo, PR, Carmen Olga Soto of Berlin, CT and Joyce Kimball of Hyde Park, VT, plus many beloved friends, including Laverne Conaway of Berlin, CT. Blanca was born in Santa Isabel, Utuado, PR. Intrepidly she ventured to New York City on her own. Jose’ followed and they were soon married and made their family home in New Britain, CT. She worked at American Hardware which became Emhart Corporation for over 30 years. She was a very talented and intelligent lady who taught herself to speak, read and write in English. She was an expert at crochet, an incredible cook, avid reader and loved gardening. She was a woman of faith with a strong belief in the Bible and who enjoyed sharing what she learned. Family and friends may visit for calling hours from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT. A service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
