Betty’s Obituary Betty Jean Epperson Botkin was born December 2, 1943 in Butler, KY and passed away December 20, 2019 in Edgewood, Kentucky at the age of 76. She was the daughter of the late Charles Otis Lucas and Irene Stamper Wagner. Betty was a retired factory worker for Atkins & Pierce and was former owner and operator of Betty’s Daycare in Williamstown. She loved crafts and writing. She will be remembered by her family as the best storyteller. She is survived by a daughter: Melanie Epperson of Williamstown; a son; Jeffery F. Epperson of Warsaw; 5 brothers: Robert Lucas of Covington, Ronald Lucas of Florida, David Lucas of Thompson, GA, Ricky Lucas of California, and Tommy Lucas of Crittenden; 5 sisters: Nancy Thompson of Maryland, Charlotte Dixon of Warsaw, Margariette Wilhoite of Carrollton, Mary Smith of Carrollton, and Janice Crabtree of Carrollton; and 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by 2 brothers: James Lucas and Michael Lucas; and 3 sisters: Geraldine Thomas, Patricia Cotton, and Bonnie Sue Lucas. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
