Barney’s Obituary ELLINGSON, Barney Jacob, Jr. – of Davison, MI, age 82, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019. Cremation has taken place. A Private Service will be held on a later date. Barney was born in Flint, MI on March 1, 1937, son of the late Barney and Mary Ellen (Rosebush) Ellingson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1958. Barney married Anita Theresa Audette on July 21, 1956 in Charleston, South Carolina where they were both stationed in the U.S. Navy. He retired from AC Spark Plug in 1988 after 28 years of service. Barney was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also coached and played hockey for many years. Barney is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anita Ellingson; 5 children, Barney F. Ellingson, Dawn (Glen) LeBeau, Laurie (Steve) Metar, Michelle (Denny) Dowdall and Valerie (Kevin) Wilkins; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Thornton; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Mary Ellen Ellingson.
