He was known as “Junior” by his friends and family and “PoPo” by all his grandchildren. He was born in Cheynne, Wyoming on July 11, 1954 to his parents, Abelardo and Elida Treviño, Sr. He was a very loving and hard working man, always working to provide for his family. He loved cooking, he also managed and worked at Jerry’s Diner for over 30 years, and he also worked with Tom’s Paving for 40 years. He enjoyed being with his family and seeing everyone being happy. He was one faithful, humbled and grateful person who we love so much. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abelardo Trevino, Sr. and Elida Martinez Trevino. Abelardo is survived by his three sons, Abelardo (Gloria) Treviño III of San Diego, Texas; Abelardo Javier (Julisa) Treviño of Alice, Texas; Christian Jay Treviño of San Diego, Texas; his German Sheppard, Max; three daughters, Kristina (Chente) Luna Treviño of Corpus Christi, Texas; Aniza (Jorge) Treviño-Valerio of Victoria, Texas; Lisa (Robert) Valdez of San Diego, Texas; three brothers, David (Carmela) Trevino of Grant Park Illinois; Arnold Treviño of Houston, Texas; Jerry (Ester) Galvan of Alice, Texas; two sisters, Linda (Cruz) Salazar and Gina (Raul) Treviño-Torres both of Corpus Christi, Texas; other special family members, Tina Oaks, Bobby Oaks, Warren Oaks all of San Diego, Texas; 14 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Garza Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego, Texas. Interment will be follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas..
