Mrs. Vargas is preceded in death by her son, Jose Cutberto Vargas; grandson, Jorge Luis Vargas, Jr.; granddaughter, Miranda Marie Vargas and her parents, Ignacio and Rosa Garcia. Mrs. Vargas is survived by her husband, Cutberto Vargas; children, Jorge Luis Vargas, Mirtha B. (Luis Lauro) Gonzalez, Maria (Jesus) Hi, Marisa (Jose Juan) Gonzalez, Joel A. Vargas, Maria Veronica (Valentin) Sermiento and Mabel (Hernan) Guzman; twenty grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Rosa Elena (†Amaro) Robles and a brother, Roberto (Santa) Garcia and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends. Visitation hours will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home. The funeral procession will depart on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 12:45 a.m. for a 1:00 p.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
