Richard E. Kratzer, 89, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest Friday, September 27, 2019. He was born August 24, 1930, in Kratzerville, a son of the late Paul and Dora (Specht) Kratzer. On August 19, 1950, in Selinsgrove, he married the former Gladys L. Thomas, who preceded him in death August 27, 2015. He was a member of the Dreisbach United Church of Christ, Lewisburg. Richard was a well-known building contractor, owning and operating Kratzer Builders, for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting and was a great cook. Richard was a devoted husband and father. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie and Bobby Bryant of Palm Bay, FL and Brenda L. Kratzer of Mifflinburg; three grandchildren, Stacy Rivera, Chanda Ratchford and Ryan Rivera; three great grandchildren, Olivia Snyder, Emily Ratchford and Maya Ratchford; and one sister, Nancy Richard of Mifflinburg. He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Kratzer; one daughter, Karen Kratzer; two brothers, Ray and Jay Kratzer; and one sister, Miriam Brandiff. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, and 10:30 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Dreisbach United Church of Christ, 875 Dreisbach Church Road, Lewisburg where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Nathan Druckenmiller, officiating. Burial will be in the Dreisbach Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
