OBIT MARTHA PATTERSON Mrs. Martha Patterson was born on February 13, 1938 to the union of Marshall and Lulu Barnhart. Martha departed this earthly life Sunday, August 11, 2019 to reach her heavenly home. She is preceded in death by both parents; husband Eliga Patterson; 2 sisters Isabelle and Charlotte; 5 brothers Marshall, Clarence, Adam, Curtis, Leroy and a grandson Joseph Laster Jr. Martha attended High School in Moro, Arkansas where she graduated and later married Eliga Patterson. In the early 1960’s, Martha relocated their family to Kansas City, Kansas where she was employed as a housekeeper at Bethany Medical Center until she retired. Martha was a loyal member of Showers of Blessings Church of Christ until her health failed. Martha devoted her life to her family and friends. Truly, she the backbone for whatever was needed to be done. Our beloved Martha leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Minister Louvanna Laster, stepdaughters Martha Irby, and Diane Mann; sister Savannah Lee; grandchildren Ivory, Code, Janelle (Steve);10 great grandchildren 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel Kansas Chapel 2065 North 5th Street 66101. Visitation 9:00a.m. Interment Chapel Hill Cemetery.
