Exeter, NH Judith D. Burgen, 74, died on July 19, 2019 at the Exeter Hospital. She was born on May 17, 1945 in Brookline, MA, the daughter of the late Samuel and Louise (Helfer) Burgen. A graduate of Brookline High School and formerly of Allston, MA, she has resided in Exeter since 1995. In her youth, she trained as a ballet dancer and made an appearance in the Boston Ballet. She was also formerly active and involved in the “Tenants Movement” in Allston. Judith was a person that was liked by anyone who knew her. An avid reader, she enjoyed cooking and listening to folk and rock music. She is survived by her longtime companion, Robert Gardner of Randolph, MA; her cousins, Janice Booth of Exeter, NH and Margaret Brown of North Hampton, NH. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11 am at the Exeter Cemetery, Linden St., Exeter, NH. Brewitt Funeral Service, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH is assisting the family.
