Vincente’s Obituary Vincente Flores Castanuela, SR., age 76, of Brady, Texas passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at his residence in Brady. Vincente was born March 24, 1943 in Melvin, Texas to Eduardo Castanuela and Angelita (Flores) Castanuela. He married Irene Martinez on May 12, 1964 in Melvin, Texas. Vincente had a very friendly smiling face whenever and wherever you saw him. He worked for the City of Brady for 45 years, most of which was with the Parks & Recreation Department. He also worked for the Brady/McCulloch County Chamber of Commerce for 35 years. He did private catering many years and was known for his salsa, chili and brisket. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady. A Mass of Christian Burial for Vincente Castanuela will be held 11:00am Monday, June 10, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady. Interment will follow at the Melvin Cemetery in Melvin. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Vincente Castanuela is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Irene Castanuela of Brady, Texas; son Vincente Castanuela, JR. and wife Carla of Brady, Texas; daughter Jo Ann Wallace of Brady, Texas; brother Mario Castanuela and wife Amelia of Brady, Texas; sisters Manuela Castanuela of Brady, Texas, Diamontina Najera and husband Ramiro of Brady, Texas, Velia Gomez of Brady, Texas, Maria Purcell and husband Jesus of Denton, Texas and Mary Jane Bocanegra and husband Cilado of Denton, Texas; grandchildren Isaac Castanuela, Avery Ramirez, Kody Ramirez, Isaiah Castanuela, Ivan Castanuela, Jessica Castanuela, Adrian Charles Castanuela and 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
