Elwood’s Obituary Elwood J. Hewitt, 72, a resident of Lyndhurst, VA, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home. He was a lifelong farmer. Mr. Hewitt is predeceased by his wife, Patty Jo Hewitt; parents, Manuel and Helen (Coffey) Hewitt; brothers, James, Melvin, and Calvin Hewitt. Surviving are his brothers, Lewis Hewitt, E.J. Hewitt and his wife Becky; sister, Madeline Almarode; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. A funeral service will be conducted at McDow Funeral Home on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Earl Monroe, Rev. Frank Hall, and Rev. Jim Simmons. Interment will follow at St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery in Middlebrook, VA.
