Mr. Everett S. Owens age 75 of Mt. Vernon died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at his home. Everett was born on September 25, 1943 in Mt. Vernon to the late Herman Owens and the late Elizabeth Hayes Owens. He was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight, he enjoyed reading, playing cards, football, guns, was a member of Beekeeping and wine making clubs, and was of the Lutheran faith. Those left to celebrate the life of Mr. Everett Owens are his children: Everett Owens II of Mt. Vernon, KY, and James Theodore “Ted” Owens, of Brodhead KY; grandchildren: Brian Owens of Mt. Vernon, KY and Brenda Owens of Orlando, KY; and great-grandchildren: Sophia Thornton, Xander Sattler, Nadilynn Bond, and Kaylee Owens. Besides his parents, Everett was preceded in death by his wife Pat Owens, his daughter Melanie Owens, and his sister Bessie Ann Hasty. Services for Mr. Everett S. Owens will be Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals in Brodhead, KY. Visitation at 3 – 6 pm followed by the funeral service at 6 pm. Burial will be at the Hamblin Memorial Gardens, in Morristown, TN.
