Wilma Jean Lambert, 89, of Palmer, Alaska, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2019. Wilma was born February 6, 1930 in Winchester, Wyoming to Orin Bonnette and Elva Russell. Wilma grew up in Wyoming. She left school at eight grade to help tend to the family farm, and completed her general education by receiving her diploma in 1977. On December 21, 1947 Wilma married Pete Leonard Scott Lambert. 20 years later they made their way to Alaska, living in Anchorage from 1967 to 1982 then moving to the valley from 1982 to 2019. Wilma worked for JC Penny from 1969 to 1976 and then Lamont’s department store. She had a love for children that sent her to work for Mat-Su Public School District from 1983 to 1993 as a school lunch lady. Wilma enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing, crocheting, ceramics, gardening and traveling, and time spent with her family. Wilma lived a life dedicated to the service of her God and family. She was always teaching her children with a heart of love; extending that love to everyone who came into her home. Wilma is survived by her sisters; Dorothy Golden and Donna Grimes; sisters-in-law; Lucy Bonnett, Jo Bonnett, Doris Bonnett; Belle Hansen (Harvey); nine children; Ray Lambert, William Leonard Lambert, Wilma Elva Jean Shingle Decker, Kay Egbert, Ruth Eileen Hartwell, Twila Belle (Jeff) Schmidt, Donadene (Ken) Duel, Cecil Laverne (Carone) Lambert; 31 grand children and 51 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Church on the rock in Palmer, Alaska at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2019 with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM.
