Willie’s Obituary William L. Roop, age 59, of Lake Station, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 11, 2019. He was born at home on March 30, 1960 in Wheeler, Indiana to Billy Joe and Shirley Roop. Willie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was employed as a route driver for Able Janitorial Supply. In his free-time, he enjoyed going to BINGO, watching movies and playing video games. Willie is survived by his sisters, Betty Potee of Gary, Vickie Frencl of Hobart, Penny Sosa of Lake Station, Paula (Vincent) Verduzco of Miller; brother, Walter (Wendy) Roop of Colorado Springs, CO; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Joe and Shirley Roop; brother, Ross Roop; sister, Katherine Roop; and brothers-in-law, Darrell Potee, George Frencl, Sr. and Ritchie Sosa. A funeral service for Willie will take place Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 am at Christian Assembly Church, 7498 Grand Blvd., Hobart, IN 46342. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
