WILLIAM HENRY KRAMER, 89, of Unionville, died Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Covenant Medical Center Harrison Campus, Saginaw. He was born April 28, 1930 at home in Akron. He married Shirley Ann Gies September 6, 1959 in Columbia Corners Lutheran Church in Unionville. Bill worked with his parents at the family grocery store in Unionville. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Bill attended Bay City Business College. He worked for Chevrolet in Bay City on the assembly line, repaired roads for the State of Michigan and worked as a pharmaceutical representative. After all that, he came back to the family business and owned and operated the grocery store in Unionville for many years. Bill loved golfing, holding a membership at Sherwood on the Hill Golf Course in Gagetown for many years. He was a former member of the Unionville American Legion Post #421. Bill enjoyed watching high school basketball and football, and later, sports on television especially the Detroit Pistons, Detroit Lions, MSU teams and U of M teams. Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley; children: Debra Ballard of Bad Axe, Kathy (Kal) Weingartz of Lapeer, Marilyn (Charles) Harris of Oscoda, Joseph Kramer of Bay City, John Kramer of Unionville; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Tom (Renee) Kramer of Traverse City; several nieces and nephews. Bill is preceded in death by his sisters: Jean (Bill) Radka and Donna (Jim) Prueter. Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Unionville Moravian Church with Rev. Darryl Bell officiating. Military honors conducted by Unionville American Legion Post #421 and the United States Navy. Memorials may be made to United Hospice of Marlette.
