Walter Ray Bogard May 26, 1935 – April 29, 2019 Share this obituary Walter Ray Bogard of Lansing, Kansas, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2019, at the age of 83. Walter was born May 26, 1935, in Vincennes, Indiana, to Amos and Irene Bogard. He attended high school in Bridgeport, Illinois. While serving in the Army, he was stationed on Okinawa where he met and married his lifelong love, Yoshiko. Together they raised four children, and he was lovingly involved in their activities, taking special pride in the summer band program and as a Boy Scout leader. His employment at Marathon Oil Company started in Illinois, and took him to Wyoming, Nebraska, then back to Wyoming where he retired after 32 years of service. Walter was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 40 years. During his retirement, he kept busy with volunteer work and traveling. In 2013, Walter and Yoshiko moved to Lansing, Kansas, where he became an avid Royals fan. Walter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Yoshiko, his son Michael L. Bogard of Lansing, Kansas, his daughter Alice J. Bogard of Kansas City, Missouri, his daughter Sarah A. Conrad (Jeff) of Parker, Colorado, and his son Timothy R. Bogard of Parker, Colorado. His grandchildren include Jared, Adrian, Emily, Chloe and Lillian (Mike); Joanna and David (Alice); Rachel and Amy (Sarah) plus 6 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be held Monday, May 6, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church; Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 7, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, luncheon to follow at Church, burial at Mt.
