Virginia B. Burklund Of Arlington Heights, Illinois Virginia (Jinny) B. Burklund was born on October 21, 1927 in Freeport, New York to Walter and Dorothy (nee Columbine) Bedell. She died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Luther Village in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Jinny was a teacher in Port Washington, New York for 27 years. She was known to her students as Mrs. Leach. She was a member of the American Association of University Women. Jinny is survived by her husband Carl Burklund; her sons Bradford Leach and Jeffrey (Connie) Leach; and her grandchildren Ashley (Richard) Audet, Justin Leach, Matthew Leach, and James Leach. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sisters Marjory Hutchinson and Joan Bedell. Visitation is on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 2:00pm until time of Memorial Service 4:00pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the JourneyCare Foundation, a provider of palliative and supportive care, at (847) 556-1647 or journeycare.org.
